We’ve spent the past couple of weeks on a lot of trains, with our luggage and some far-too-numerous bags of camera equipment. Why? To film journeys to great ski resorts in France, Switzerland and Austria, and the skiing when you get there. It’s been a Winterrail adventure, and one of the things that struck us most while travelling was the fun that can be had on the train.
Need to change train in Paris - it is easier than you think...
It has been a long wait, but at last, TGV trains from Paris to Bardonecchia and Oulx are now loaded into Rail Europe's booking system - and bookable!
Sometimes trying to book independent travel can be frustrating. Although many journeys can be booked for dates until late March, some still cannot.
From today, many more trains are bookable - for travel dates up until 12th March 2012. But there are still some trains that haven't been loaded onto the system yet.
Rail Europe have told us that a new high-speed daytime rail service to Italy will start from 11th of December, linking Paris with and Bardonecchia and Oulx
