Ski holidays by train: fixed-price packages to Switzerland

If you want to travel to a ski resort by train, and don't want to travel independently, we've found some great tour operator packages with rail travel included. One advantage of these packages is that prices are fixed, although you will usually pay a modest supplement to travel by train, which is higher on peak season dates. Here is our guide to the options.

Online booking guidance

How to book rail travel on the Inghams site isn't obvious at first. It also brings up some times and prices that appear to be incorrect, so it is worth checking before booking (we've alerted Inghams to this, and they are looking into it)

Nevertheless, here's a quick guide to help you:

1. Enter your desired holiday criteria into the "Holiday Search" panel on the left hand side and for your departure point, choose "London All".

2. Click the "Search" button.

3. Using the same Holiday Search panel, you'll see that "Air" has been selected as the mode of travel, so tick the "Rail" box and click "Search" again. This brings up results including rail travel.

When we last checked, the information on this page was out of date. The 12.24 from Paris to Basel does not run, and 3rd January is not a Saturday but a Sunday! (We've told Inghams about this)
