Paris-Est to Paris-Nord

Changing from Paris-Est to Paris-Nord is straightforwad either walking (if you've got wheeled luggage) or by using the taxi rank or a pre-booked taxi. 

It's not worth taking the Metro because it is only one short stop.

Pre-booked taxi - (the easiest way)

You can stations in Paris most easily with a pre-booked taxi. The driver waits at the end of the platform holding a card with your name on it.

The vehicles are spacious and can take skis and snowboards (at no extra cost). If your train is delayed (rare) the driver will wait for you. All the drivers speak English.

The drive from Paris-Est to Paris-Nord takes around 7 - 10 minutes in the taxi.

The taxi rank is right outside the station and taxis arrive constantly.

The price from Paris-Est to Paris-Nord is 8€ - 10€ per four-person taxi. These can carries skis or snowboards.  There is normally a 1€ charge per big piece of luggage.

The actual drive only takes 7 - 10 minutes.

You should allow about 1.5 hours in total (to include Eurostar check-in time) for the change from Paris-Est to Paris-Nord, to be on the safe side.

It's approximate 10 minutes walk between Paris-Est and Paris-Nord

Exit Gare de l'Est and turn right into Rue du 8 Mai 1945. Then turn right into Boulevard de Magenta and right again into Boulevard de Denain. Gare du Nord is now straight ahead of you.



There's an even shorter route, but it involves a flight of stairs, so avoid that. Ask any local to make sure you are headed the right way - everyone is helpful.

The Metro journey between Paris-Est and Paris-Nord is only one stop. It really isn't worth the bother - better to walk above ground.
