Everyone was super friendly

Resort:  Montgenevre
Journey:  Eurostar + TGV

We were keen to get the train skiing as we wanted to avoid Gatwick and the mass exodus at Xmas. On Daniel's advice we travelled on the Eurostar to Paris Gare du Nord, changed by taxi to Gare de Lyon and took a TGV to Oulx station.  The journey was excellent and the quick taxi ride from Gare de Nord to Gare de Lyon was smooth and hassle free. At Oulx we took a pre-booked taxi to the French resort of Montgenevre.

I hadn't been skiing since the 1980s and it was the first time skiing for my children 6 and 10 years, Daniel advised on Montgenevre as a small family oriented resort - and we were not disappointed.   The resort was an excellent choice: everyone was super friendly from the staff at Hotel Anova, where we stayed, to the ski school to the restaurants.

Montgenevre was perfect for a family, as we wanted plenty of beginner and intermediate slopes. Perhaps other resorts offer a greater number of more challenging slopes but for our holiday the combination was perfect.  We didn't have time in the event but the option was also there to ski across the border into Italy and take advantage of their ski runs too.

Overall it was a very successful holiday and we wouldn't hesitate to come back and take the train.
