You might have heard of Montagne Verte, a groundbreaking organisation started in Morzine and now encompassing Les Gets, Avoriaz and several other resorts in the Portes du Soleil area.

Established by a small group of volunteers in 2019, Montagne Verte’s mission is, as their name suggests, to make the mountains greener. Not in a lack-of-snow way, but in terms of helping ski resorts become more sustainable. In this respect, they’ve got plenty of in-resort initiatives, such as upcycled clothing projects, educational programmes, eco guides and partnerships with local businesses.

In 2022, Montagne Verte launched the AlpinExpress Pass. This free, easy-to-get super-voucher provides discounts on dozens of activities and purchases in the Portes du Soleil area, including an incredibly lucrative 10% reduction in the price of your ski pass. The AlpinExpress Pass is available to anyone who has travelled to Montagne Verte resorts by train.

SnowCarbon has collaborated with Montagne Verte in various ways over the years. However, we’re finally pleased to announce a new guide to Montagne Verte, which details how the AlpinExpress Pass works - another win for skiers travelling by train!
