Did we miss the airplane?

Just a brief note, Daniel, to say thanks for the help and assistance you gave me in planning our fantastic trip to La Plagne that we’ve just come back from via the direct Eurostar Ski Train.

We’ve never been by train and apart from the dodgy air conditioning in Carriage 17 on the way back last Saturday (which Eurostar have agreed compensation on!) everything went very smoothly, with taxis at either end and of course the smooth journey from St Pancras to Aime-La-Plagne.

Did we miss the airplane? Certainly not! With four children under 11 in our party, and armed with various electrical equipment and sweets, they all had a fab time on the train (apart from the odd ‘are we there yet’!)

It was great to get off the train at Aime and only have a 20 minute journey up the mountain (I recommend Albert Taxis, by the way) to Plagne Soleil, which became snowier and snowier the higher we got much to the children’s excitement and the odd adult!

Would we go by train again? Yes we would - and we talked about driving to cut down on cost, but it was nice just to get on the return train at Bourg-St-Maurice and relax.

New Generation were were superb again in looking after our children and ensuring they had a fab time. English speaking and small group sizes (I think the biggest group I saw had six children in), really benefits the children, giving them a bit more of a personal experience. And we all know that happy children means happy parents!

We will definitely look at the La Plagne/Ski Train/New Generation combination again as it ticked all our boxes, but as we try and do skiing every other year, it’s going to be 2020 before we hit those slopes again!

So once again, many thanks and we look forward to our next trip ‘sur la piste par le train.’
