Driver waiting at the end of the Eurostar platform in Paris Nord

The easiest way to change stations in Paris is with a pre-booked taxi. Your driver will wait at the end of the platform holding a card with your name on it or at a pre-arranged meeting point outside the station.

The vehicles are spacious and can take skis and snowboards at no extra cost. If your train is delayed, the driver will wait for you. All drivers speak English.

The drive from Paris Nord to Paris Austerlitz takes around 30 minutes by taxi. However, you should allow a minimum of one hour for your transfer just in case (and more if you want to stop for lunch).

Ski-Lifts prebooked taxis

Alpine transfer company, Ski-Lifts, offers a cross-Paris taxi transfer service to help skiers travelling by train to the Alps. A Ski-Lifts driver will meet you at the end of the Eurostar platform holding a placard with your name on it. Ski-Lifts has vehicles of various sizes and can take skis and snowboards (tell them you have skis or snowboards when making the booking).

The Metro journey from Paris Nord to Paris Austerlitz takes 20 minutes, with trains running every six minutes. A ticket costs about €2, and you can save time by buying a carnet of 10 from a Eurostar or TGV cafe-bar. Allow 50 minutes for the total transfer.

From Paris Nord, take Metro Line 5 towards Place d'Italie, alighting at Paris Austerlitz.

We wouldn't recommend this way of transferring if you have heavy cases, because you'll have to go up and down several flights of stairs.
