Scotland to Wengen

From Scotland to Kings Cross, then a step across the road,

So neatly to Sty Pancras and the Eurostar is there.

Emerging from the chunnel and a gallic voice holds forth:

Now we are in France. Now we can travel in this train at the speed it is designed for..

From Gare du Nord a taxi, pour visiter des vieux amis,

And the morning after to the Gare de Lyon to continue.

At that stage an unexpected upgrade

To a very comfortable seat in "First Business"

Quick change again at Basle, just crossing the platform

And trundllng on through Switzerland , to the magnificent Berner Oberland.

Finally into the hills and up to Wengen.
